Inaugural Worhip Service?

I’m sure everyone has seen the inauguration. What an event! I’m not sure what to think about it. On the one hand, it was really cool to see all the fanfare and the peaceful exchange of power. I think most of the county was actually united for a day! I wonder how long that will last! Yes, I know, I am a bit cynical and pessimistic, but, it’s my right as an American.

There are some things about the whole event that REALLY bother me. First, I commend our new President for not making an issue of color. However, the media and others that had a voice did make an issue of color. They mostly said that electing a “black” president has brought our country together. Don’t they realize that they are creating a bigger separation between black and white? They don’t need to focus on color unless they are going bring to light the fact that Obama is not black, but a mix of black and white. Now that would bring the nation together!

Another thing that I was repulsed by was the worshiping of Obama! When people are raising their hands to him (without cameras!) that is worship! I don’t care what you people think, Obama is NOT the Messiah! I’m not even convinced that he is a Christian! He claims to be a man of God, but he supports things that are directly against God. He supports abortion:”…Thou shalt not kill…”. He supports homosexuality:”…this is an abomination to Me…” as well as a long list of scripture that supports this. Those are the two that bother me the most and quite frankly, I believe that is enough. Many of you say:”Yeah, but he is going to fix the economy and that is more important.” Oh really? Money is more important than righteousness? More important than morals? More important than doing what is right? I disagree. If we follow God and do what is right, everything else will fall into place. I feel it is time for our nation to get right with God. It’s time to call a spade a spade and stop worrying about gets offended by it. It’s time for the silent majority to speak. Not in condemnation, but out of love. We need to show those who would be offended that it is not hate, fear, or a lack of understanding that keeps us from supporting the things that are involved in, but rather love and the knowledge of the saving grace of Jesus Christ.

My favorite part of the whole day was the invocation given by Rick Warren. If you haven’t seen it, you should google it! It was great!
