American Flag, offensive??? In TEXAS!?!
by ~Aaron on May.28, 2009, under Not Politcally Correct

Does this flag offend you?
My last post was an article that I read on Fox News. I am blown away by that whole situation! (I also have that feeling that I am about to offend some people…)
Well, last I checked Texas was still a part of The United States of America. I also seem to recall that Texans are particularly patriotic. I am completely befuddled by anyone in The United States of America, especially Texas, being offended by OUR flag! I am offended that they took Debbie McLucas’ flag down. The people in this country used to take a certain amount of pride in being “American”. Now, the majority just seem to want to make sure that they don’t offend anyone. (Are you seeing the pattern here..?) Is it wrong for a woman to take pride in her country? Is it wrong for her to display an “American” flag, in America, to honor her husband, two sons, and a daughter? The short answer is: “NO!!!”. I’ll let you be creative with the long answer.

Remember what it stands for?
Now, for those offended by the flag. You live in America by choice. If you don’t like it here, you are free to leave! YOU DON’T HAVE THE RIGHT TO BE OFFENDED BY THE AMERICAN FLAG!!! There, I said it. I am prepared for the backlash, so don’t hold back! If you came here by choice, you should be just as proud of that flag as the rest of us. If you are offended by our flag, go back where you came from. I dare anyone to go to Ireland and tell an Irish man or woman that you are offended by Guiness, much less their country’s flag! They would run you off the Island! We should be more like that here! In fact, we used to be!
Listen up people: Something bad is happening to our country, and only we can stop it! Don’t be afraid to stand up for what is right. “If it offends someone, then they probably needed to be offended”
Just My Thoughts . . .

The person removing the flag is Olubunmi F. Ayeni-Agbelese an immigrant that has refused to learn or speak proper English. She lives in GRAND PRAIRIE TEXAS look it up on google maps. It is far better than Nigeria where she is from. More disturbing is she doesn’t even have the spine and guts to stand up for what she believes which is the back bone of the United States. She made the comments that the flag offended her and now hides like a coward. The hospital administrators are no better and gave a corporate coward response to the situation. The short of it all is that being a coward is easier than standing up for what you believe. The hospital continues to pay her in American currency that she gladly takes and now they are paying investor’s money (they are publicly traded) for security in front of her house. Why will she not stand up now?

Thank you so much for your comment! You have really put the whole thing in perspective. The other thing that really bothered me about this was that the flag was left on the ground. I just can’t accept any excuse that they give for what they did. I forgive them, but there is still no excuse for it.

I have to say that your post is the type of sentiment that needs to be shared across the board. I, as an American who is black appreciate the fact that my friends and family are serving abroad. I appreciate the freedom that this flag represents and I find it ironic that an immigrant who came here in search for a better lifestyle, finds every aspect of American culture offensive. The administration is no better. I just though I’d share the sentiments of most if not all Americans who have seen this story.

I admire Debbie for standing up for the flag, more of should do this otherwise WE are going to be the minority in our own country. I already feel like I am in a lot of ways, everything seems must be ‘politically’ correct anymore. Immigrants who come to this country maybe should be required to read the history of the constitution and pass a test before they can get citizenship, maybe then they might understand why we are so proud of our flag and our wonderful country. Since the presidential election I feel that we have lost our country, it is playing out like a bad horror movie to me, and everyday it gets worse. In 4 years I wonder if we will even recognize this country. Thanks Debbie for what you are doing! God Bless your Patriotic family and God Bless our Troops!

Half the time I don’t recognize this country now!

dude, you said it! my backlash is against the idiot minority trying to (and often succeeding) in ruling the world.
why are people dumb? my thought… they must have learned it. which means they can UNLEARN it. keep teaching!!

So I have been asked to remove the name and address of Olubunmi F. Ayeni-Agbelese by Kindred HC. The health care provider she works for. Can anyone tell me why I should remove information that is readily accessible by the general public through any number of public resources? Also, why should the woman who stood up for the flag be made known while the woman who was “offended” is protected? Notice, I have not at this time edited the comment that contains the “private, personal” information. I need a better reason than a hospital wants me too. I mean, it certainly doesn’t violate HIPPA!

Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said Friday that Israel’s announcement of new settlement construction in disputed territory in East Jerusalem was “insulting” to the United States. Its doesn’t bother me though. I will be fine.

It sounds like you’re creating problems yourself by trying to solve this issue instead of looking at why their is a problem in the first place
March 23rd, 2010 on 1:22 pm
Okay, not that I am trying to fix anything, but why is there a problem? The way I see it, there is a problem because we as a nation are too politically correct and we are afraid to offend to anyone…

Good points…I would note that as someone who really doesn’t write on blogs much (in fact, this may be my first post), I don’t think the term “lurker” is very becoming to a non-posting reader. It’s not your fault really , but perhaps the blogosphere could come up with a better, non-creepy name for the 90% of us that enjoy reading the posts.
